Some, but not all, mosquito species are attracted to small quantities of a chemical called octenol (1-OCTEN-3-OL). The Ultra and Premier Mega Catch Mosquito Traps come with one octenol lure. Octenol can improve the rate of capture of some mosquito species. Other species (e.g. the Asian Tiger Mosquito), may not be attracted or even repelled by octenol. Package includes 1 octenol strip. Mega Catch Octenol Fragrance Strips should be effective for up to 30 days depending on weather conditions.
